Open Pulse and tap the large button on the Connect screen. The first time, iOS asks to add a VPN configuration — tap Allow. That's it.
Do I need an account? No. Pulse works with no sign-up.
Why does iOS ask to add a VPN configuration? Every VPN app needs this permission to create the tunnel. You can remove it anytime in iOS Settings › General › VPN & Device Management.
It won't connect. Toggle the connection off and on, check your internet, and make sure the VPN configuration is still allowed in iOS Settings.
